Since 1925, Cagi has accompanied generations with the quality and elegance of true Italian craftsmanship. Today we celebrate a century of history, looking passionately toward the future.

1940

In the 1940s, Italian underwear changed, with cream-colored flannel and wool giving way to fresh, bleached cotton. This was when the quintessentially Italian cliché of ribbed men's undershirts, known as vogatore, came into being, a model that remains an evergreen for the brand to this day.

1960

In the 1960s, long johns were replaced by briefs with elastic waistbands and a central opening, made of mercerized cotton. They were made of filoscozia fabric for the warmer months and fleece cotton for the coldest weather.

1970

In the 1970s, the Cagi brand became the men's underwear that democratized clothing: bankers and bricklayers shared the same bleached, ribbed soul.

2000

In the 2000s, the historic Cagi brand became associated with a more mature target market and suffered from the pressure of fast fashion.Classic briefs lost ground to models with clearly visible foreign brands. The specter of crisis loomed large, and the company was forced to come to terms with the new fashion system.

2011

In July 2011, CSP International stepped in to take over Cagi and, in August 2012, completed the acquisition, saving the historic Italian underwear brand on the eve of the fall season.

2012

Joining the CSP group allowed the brand to be relaunched through new communication strategies, expanded distribution, and renewed market positioning. In the years that followed, the brand successfully combined its artisanal heritage with technological innovation, responding to the needs of a public increasingly attentive to comfort, style, and sustainability.

2025

In 2025, Cagi was recognized as a historic brand, confirming its leading role in the Italian lingerie industry.Today, the brand is not only an example of entrepreneurial resilience, but also a symbol of continuity, capable of reinventing itself without ever losing its original DNA.
